NetSuite to Zoho migration · US partner · Los Angeles

Migrate from NetSuite to Zoho Books, Inventory and CRM with a US partner

One ERP becomes three connected apps, and the books still balance.

Your finance team keeps closing in NetSuite while we set up the Zoho finance stack beside it. We move the chart of accounts, opening balances, customers, vendors, items and open transactions, rebuild scripts and integrations, and go live on the first day of a clean period.

  • Trial balance matched to the cent
  • Go-live at a period start
  • Fixed fee agreed before any export

01The honest inventory

NetSuite to Zoho migration: what moves, what changes, what we rebuild

There is no one-click NetSuite importer in Zoho, so every piece moves through import files we prepare from NetSuite exports. Balances, master data and open items come across; scripts, workflows and custom records get rebuilt.

Moves across

Your ledger and master data

  • Chart of accounts and tax rates
  • Opening balances from the trial balance on your cutover date
  • Customers and vendors with their contact persons
  • Items with opening stock per warehouse
  • Open invoices, bills, sales and purchase orders
  • Leads, prospects and opportunities into Zoho CRM

Moves, but lands differently

Same data, new shape

  • Each subsidiary becomes its own Zoho Books organization
  • Classes and departments become reporting tags
  • Closed years usually arrive as monthly summary journals, with full detail kept in an archive export
  • Deposits and fund transfers are re-entered or journaled, since Zoho Books doesn’t import them directly
  • Saved searches become reports and custom views

Rebuilt in Zoho

Logic we set up again

  • SuiteScript and SuiteFlow as Deluge, workflow rules or Zoho Flow
  • Custom records as custom modules or a Zoho Creator app
  • Approval routing as Zoho Books approvals
  • Invoice and PO templates in Zoho’s template editor
  • Store, bank and payroll connections reconnected

03Before you decide

Is leaving NetSuite right for your company?

Often, but not always. Set how much each job matters to you and see which side your own priorities favour.

  • A lower, more predictable software bill
  • A finance lead who can change settings without a developer
  • Consolidating many subsidiaries in one close
  • Warehouses, bins and serial numbers
  • Heavy custom logic on one database
  • CRM, service and marketing from the same vendor

04Your controller will sleep fine

How do we keep a NetSuite migration safe?

By matching numbers before anyone switches. The trial balance, open receivables and payables, and stock on hand must agree in both systems, and NetSuite stays readable until your accountant is satisfied.

A note from our founders

Khris is a CFO, so finance moves get a co-founder’s attention here. Since opening in Glendale in 2025 and across 300+ projects, our rule has stayed simple: no go-live until the ledger ties out and the person who signs the tax return agrees.

What if something goes wrong?

The trial balance is off after the move

We trace the difference account by account against NetSuite, fix it in Zoho Books and re-run the report before sign-off.

Finance rejects the sample

Nothing else moves until finance signs a corrected sample.

Something breaks in the first month

The rollback window in your BRD lets the team keep posting in NetSuite while we fix it.

Your NetSuite stays live until you say so

How does a NetSuite migration to Zoho run?

In 15 steps over five phases, seven of them specific to a migration. Finance keeps posting in NetSuite until cutover. Scroll and the Zoho finance stack assembles one layer per phase.

  1. Phase 1Understand · steps 1 to 3

    Lay the foundation

    1. Discovery call Free. Subsidiaries, modules, integrations, who closes the books.
    2. Timeline & renewal check Migration only NetSuite renewal date, fiscal year-end and the stopper date.
    3. Migration plan Which apps, which history, a clean period to go live, a fixed fee.
  2. Phase 2Agree · steps 4 to 7

Draw the plan and sign it

    1. Migration BRD Migration only Account mapping, record map, script list, tie-out checks; often the paid assessment’s output.
    2. Department sign-off Migration only Finance, operations and sales leads sign with your project owner.
    3. Kickoff Access, roles and posting-freeze rules for cutover.
    4. Delivery schedule Dates per app, set back from the stopper date.
  3. Phase 3Build & prove · steps 8 to 10

    Raise Books, Inventory and CRM

    1. Zoho setup Organizations, taxes, warehouses, CRM modules and rebuilt scripts, shown in review demos.
    2. Sample migration Migration only One month of activity and a slice of items and customers.
    3. Sample sign-off Migration only Your controller and each team lead confirm in writing.
  4. Phase 4Move & test · steps 11 to 13

Connect the pieces and tie out

    1. Full migration + catch-up Migration only Balances, masters and open items, then late postings; the validation report must tie out.
    2. Testing Invoices, receipts and payments run on real data.
    3. Training By team, with manuals and recorded videos.
  5. Phase 5Switch · steps 14 and 15

    Put the roof on

    1. Cutover & go-live On the first day of a period, before the stopper date; NetSuite goes read-only.

08Count back from the renewal

When should your NetSuite migration start?

Two dates matter: your NetSuite renewal and your fiscal year-end. We set a stopper date two weeks before the renewal, then place go-live on the first day of a month so the books open cleanly.

      NetSuite to Zoho migration questions

What controllers and owners ask before leaving NetSuite. Bring your trial balance to the call if you like.

What doesn’t move from NetSuite to Zoho?

Custom logic stays behind: SuiteScript, SuiteFlow workflows, custom records, saved searches and advanced templates. We list each in the assessment and rebuild what you still use. Deposits and fund transfers are re-entered or journaled, since Zoho Books doesn’t import them directly.

How much NetSuite history should we bring?

Most companies bring opening balances plus the current year in detail, with earlier years as monthly summary journals. A full export of NetSuite stays archived for audits. You choose the depth in the BRD.

How do NetSuite subsidiaries work in Zoho?

Each subsidiary becomes its own Zoho Books organization with its own currency and taxes. Group reporting across them is set up in Zoho Analytics. If you consolidate many entities every month, we will tell you honestly whether NetSuite still suits you better.

      When should we go live?

On the first day of a month, ideally not in the weeks around year-end close. That way the opening balances match a closed NetSuite period and your accountant has a clean line between systems.

How long does a NetSuite to Zoho migration take?

It depends on subsidiaries, history depth, scripts and integrations. Your Migration BRD gives dated steps for the sample, full move and cutover, set back from a stopper date before the NetSuite renewal.

How much does a NetSuite migration cost?

We price NetSuite moves as Quick, Standard or Complex Move, each one a fixed fee. Only the first call is free. NetSuite moves usually start with a paid Migration Assessment, credited in full against the migration, and the fee is agreed in a signed BRD before work begins.

Who signs off the NetSuite migration?

Every NetSuite department names one point of contact, normally its head; for finance that is usually your controller. They sign the Migration BRD and their sample, with your overall project owner, and every sign-off is recorded.

What happens to our NetSuite account after go-live?

It stays read-only through the rollback window and the first close in Zoho, and we keep a full export. You cancel only after you confirm, ideally before the renewal date.

      13How a NetSuite migration starts

From first call to a signed NetSuite migration plan

The first call is free. A paid Migration Assessment then maps your accounts, records and scripts into a BRD, and its cost is credited in full against the move.

We run NetSuite moves online for finance teams across the US, Canada and Latin America, and train on-site around Los Angeles.
