Ask in plain English. The agent does the work in Zoho, inside the limits you set.
Zoho MCP lets AI (now also called SI, super intelligence) agents like Claude and ChatGPT read and act in your Zoho apps. Led from our Glendale office in the Los Angeles area, our certified Zoho team sets up your Zoho MCP servers, pick which tools each agent gets, wire up sign-in and permissions, build the custom tools Zoho doesn’t ship, and train your team to use AI / SI agents safely.

01Why Zoho MCP
Zoho MCP is Zoho’s server for the Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI tools use to call software. It costs nothing extra, it works with the AI tool your team already likes, and the agent can only use the tools you switch on, with each person’s own Zoho access. Here’s what that looks like on one server.
Zoho lists MCP at $0, with no separate license or activation fee. Each action runs through the normal API of the app it touches, so it counts against the API limits your Zoho plan already includes.
Zapier MCP: 2 tasks per tool callZoho’s setup guides cover Claude on the web and desktop, ChatGPT in Developer Mode, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code with GitHub Copilot. Any client that speaks MCP can connect with the server’s URL.
Each tool is one action, like “search records” or “create task”. Switch on only read tools and the agent can look things up but can’t change a single record. Add write tools later, one at a time.
By default every user signs in with their own Zoho account, so a sales rep’s agent sees what that rep can see in Zoho CRM, and nothing more. A super admin can switch to one company-level connection when that fits better.
Every action an agent takes through the server lands on the Logs page: which tool ran, who triggered it, whether it worked, and when. That’s your audit trail when someone asks “who changed this deal?”
Mix tools from Zoho CRM, Desk, Books, Projects, Mail, Cliq, WorkDrive and more on one server, plus outside apps like GitHub, Stripe and Asana. Building the server is point-and-click.
Zoho MCP is different from Zoho Zia, the assistant built into Zoho apps. Zia works inside Zoho. Zoho MCP lets outside agents in. Many teams use both, and our AI / SI software work covers each.
02Under the hood
The AI tool never logs into Zoho by itself. It asks the Zoho MCP server which tools it may use, calls one, and the server checks your permissions before it touches Zoho CRM. Scroll through one real-world style request from start to finish.
1 · The ask“Which Texas deals over $20K went quiet this month? Set a follow-up for each owner.”
2 · What can I use?The client asks the server for its tool list. It gets back only the tools your admin switched on.
3 · Call search_recordsModule: Deals. State: Texas. Amount over $20,000. Last activity before Sep 12.
4 · Who is asking? The server uses your own Zoho sign-in, so the search only sees deals your role can see.
5 · A normal API callZoho CRM answers with three deals. The call counts toward your plan’s API credits like any other.
6 · Results come backThe agent reads the three deals and their owners, then plans the next step.
7 · OK to write? Most AI clients ask you to approve a tool that changes data. You click Allow.
8 · create_task ×3One follow-up per deal owner, due Friday, linked to the deal.
9 · Written downEach call is logged with the tool, the user who triggered it, the result and the time.
10 · The answer“Three deals, $142,500 in total. Tasks are set for Maria, Dev and Sam.” Sample data.
03Try it · sample data
Choose a request, choose what your admin has switched on, and run it. You’ll see each tool the agent calls, what came back, and what the log records. Then flip to read-only and run it again: the agent can still look things up, but its write tools simply aren’t there.
1. Pick a prompt
2. What has your admin switched on?

04Setup & rollout
Most US teams we talk to already have something: a script a developer wrote, a Zapier zap with an AI step, or people pasting Zoho exports into ChatGPT. Pick yours and see where each piece goes once a Zoho MCP server is in place. Then we roll it out read-only first, so nobody gets surprised.

05Zoho MCP pricing in the US
Zoho MCP itself has no subscription, license or activation fee. Actions run through the standard API of each Zoho app, so they use the API limits that come with the plan you already have. If one request touches Zoho CRM and Zoho Desk, each app uses its own allowance. Outside apps on the same server use their own limits and terms.
Heavy agent use can eat into API limits that your other integrations also rely on. We check your current usage and Zoho edition during scoping, so there are no surprises.
What an AI agent on Zoho costs you
06Other ways to give AI agents access
There are four common ways US businesses let AI agents act in their business apps. If your data lives in Zoho, Zoho MCP is the cheapest and the quickest to govern. The others earn their place when your systems are mostly elsewhere. Here’s how they line up.
| Option | What it costs to connect agents | Charged per action? | Which AI tools | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0No license or activation fee | No. Uses your Zoho API limits | Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and other MCP clients | Businesses that run on Zoho | |
| Custom API integration | QuoteBuild plus hosting and upkeep | Depends on hosting | Whatever you build for | One very specific workflow, or a system with no MCP server |
| Included in Zapier plansPro from $19.99 a month billed yearly, 750 tasks | Yes. 2 tasks per tool call, shared with your Zaps | MCP clients | Teams spread across many non-Zoho apps | |
| Salesforce Agentforce | $125Per user per month add-on, or Flex Credits | Yes with Flex Credits. $500 per 100,000 credits, 20 credits per action | Salesforce’s own agents | Companies already deep in Salesforce |
Same thousand actions, same year: Zoho MCP adds nothing to your bill. Your Zoho API limits still apply, and every option still needs an AI tool and someone to set it up well.
Where another tool can make sense: if most of your systems live outside Zoho, Zapier MCP reaches more apps with one connection. If you run sales and service on Salesforce, Agentforce sits closer to that data. And for one narrow, high-volume job, a small custom API can be simpler than a general agent. Bring your list of systems to the first call and we’ll say which route fits it.
List prices in USD. Zapier shown at its Pro plan billed yearly. Agentforce shown at Salesforce’s list rates for the add-on and Flex Credits, which also need Salesforce licenses. Zapier and Salesforce can change these rates at any time, so we re-check both, plus your AI tool’s connector plan, before you commit.
07Zoho MCP integrations
On the Zoho side, the Zoho MCP integration covers the apps your team lives in: Zoho CRM, Desk, Books, Projects, Mail, Cliq, WorkDrive, Creator, Bigin and more. On the AI side, any client that supports MCP can connect. These are the twelve we set up most. Hover a tile to see what an agent can do there.
08What we build
Each project gets its own scope and a fixed price in a signed BRD. Small teams often start with the first card and grow into the others. After go-live, our Zoho MCP consultants stay on for support and training, because agents get better as you tune their tools.

09Before you connect an agent
Plain answers on Zoho MCP pricing, permissions, logs and setup. Don’t see yours? Ask on a discovery call. The first one is free.
Zoho MCP is Zoho’s server for the Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI tools use to call business software. You create a server, choose which Zoho tools it offers, and connect an AI client such as Claude or ChatGPT. The agent can then search, create and update records in apps like Zoho CRM, Desk and Books, within the tools and permissions you allow.
Zoho lists Zoho MCP at $0, with no separate subscription, license or activation fee. Actions run through each Zoho app’s standard API, so they count against the API limits included in the Zoho plan you already have. Your AI tool needs a plan that allows custom MCP connectors, which is usually a paid tier. Wiring your servers, tool lists and sign-in is our own fixed-price work, written into a signed BRD before any agent connects.
Zoho’s setup guides cover Claude on the web and desktop, ChatGPT in Developer Mode, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf and Visual Studio Code with GitHub Copilot. Any other AI client that supports remote MCP servers can connect using the server URL.
Zoho MCP offers tools for Zoho CRM, Desk, Books, Projects, Mail, Cliq, WorkDrive, Creator, Bigin, People, Expense, Billing and more, and you can add tools from outside apps such as GitHub, Stripe and Asana to the same server. When a tool you need isn’t available, we can build it as a custom API on Zoho Catalyst.
Not with the default setup. Zoho MCP uses authorization on demand, so each person signs in with their own Zoho account and the agent works within that person’s role and permissions. A super admin can choose a company-level connection instead, and then actions run with that admin’s access, so we only recommend it for specific cases.
Yes. Actions taken through a Zoho MCP server are recorded on its Logs page, showing which tool ran, who triggered it, whether it succeeded and when. We set up a regular log review as part of every rollout.
Zia is the AI assistant built into Zoho apps, working inside Zoho screens. Zoho MCP opens Zoho to outside AI agents such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, so they can act in Zoho from wherever your team already works. Many businesses use both.
If your business runs on Zoho, Zoho MCP is usually the better fit because it adds no fee and uses your existing Zoho permissions. Zapier MCP is included in Zapier plans but each tool call uses 2 tasks from your allowance. Salesforce Agentforce is $125 per user per month as an add-on, or Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits with 20 credits per action, and it suits companies already on Salesforce.
Yes. There is no extra fee, setup is point-and-click, and a small team can start with one read-only server for Zoho CRM or Bigin in a single AI tool. We often begin small businesses with one job, like weekly pipeline summaries, and add write tools once the team trusts the results.
It depends on how many apps, tools and teams are involved and whether you need custom tools. The signed BRD lists every server, tool and team, and the delivery schedule dates each step from the read-only pilot to write access, so you see the go-live date before we connect anything.
Yes. We map what your scripts or zaps do today, rebuild the Zoho side as Zoho MCP tools, keep any truly custom logic as an API on Zoho Catalyst, and switch teams over read-only first. Triggers that should keep running on their own can stay in Zapier or move to Zoho Flow.
Yes. After go-live our team reviews the logs with you, adjusts tools and permissions as your process changes, and runs Zoho MCP training for new staff and new teams, online or on-site in Southern California.
Yes. You choose which tools each server offers, so a server can expose only search and lookup tools. We usually start teams on a read-only rollout and add write tools once they trust the results, and every tool call still shows on the Logs page.
SI stands for super intelligence. In September 2026 a US executive order asked federal agencies to use “super intelligence” or “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” in official communications. Most businesses still say AI, so we use both terms.
10How a Zoho MCP project starts
These four steps settle what the agent may do, who it acts as, and what the work costs, in writing, before we connect anything. A single read-only server is often scoped on the first call. Bigger jobs, like custom tools across several Zoho apps and outside systems, may need a paid scoping and BRD phase, and we’ll quote that up front.
Agent setup runs over screen share for teams across the US, Canada and Latin America; we come on-site in Southern California when IT wants to review permissions in the room.
From kick-off to go-live, the rest of the process is on one page. See how we work →
