01Six work orders worth reading

Why HVAC, plumbing and solar crews pick Zoho FSM

Zoho FSM covers the whole job: request, estimate, work order, dispatch, the tech’s app, the signed service report and the invoice. What makes it stand out for US contractors is how it’s priced and how it plugs into the rest of Zoho. Each card below is stamped with the edition where that feature starts.

Edge 01Every edition

You pay for appointments, and the techs come with it

Zoho FSM pricing goes by how many appointments you book each month. The free edition takes up to 20 users and Standard up to 200, so adding a new hire doesn’t add a seat fee.

Jobber: $29 a month per extra user

Edge 02Every edition

A dispatch console you can drag jobs around on

The dispatch console shows the day as a Gantt chart, a grid or a calendar. Drag an appointment to another tech or time. From Standard up, live locations and trips show who’s nearest.

Edge 03Every edition

An app your techs will actually open

The Zoho FSM mobile app for iPhone and Android gives techs the day’s jobs, directions, travel time, notes and photos. The service report closes with the customer’s signature and rating.

Edge 04Professional +

Maintenance plans that book the next visit for you

Tie a plan to a customer’s equipment and Zoho FSM creates the recurring work orders and appointments. Each unit keeps its full service history, which is gold for HVAC agreements and solar O&M.

Edge 05Premium

The right tech, by skill, shift and territory

Premium adds skills, shifts and territory permissions. Tag who holds which license, and the job that needs a refrigerant handler goes to someone who has one.

Edge 06With other Zoho apps

Office, field and accounting share one loop

Sales reps create work orders from a deal in Zoho CRM. Support turns a Zoho Desk ticket into one. Invoices sync to Zoho Books and parts come out of Zoho Inventory, serial numbers included.

02A Tuesday in July, 102°F

Follow one Zoho FSM work order from first call to paid invoice

Here’s how a no-cooling call moves through Zoho FSM at a sample HVAC company in the Los Angeles area. Scroll and the van drives the route: the request comes in, the right tech gets dispatched, the job sheet gets filled in on site, and the invoice is paid before the truck leaves the driveway.

  1. 7:42 AM

The request comes in from your website

A homeowner in Pasadena fills in the service form on your site: “AC blowing warm air, 2-story house.” Zoho FSM files it as a request with her address, phone and the condenser on record from last year’s install.

  2. 7:50 AM

The dispatcher turns it into a work order

One click converts the request. The diagnostic fee is already a service line, and the unit’s history shows a capacitor flagged on the last visit. Priority: urgent, it’s 102°F out.

  3. 8:05 AM

Dispatched to the closest tech who can do the job

On the dispatch console, Marcus is wrapping up in Eagle Rock, 3.1 miles away, and he holds an EPA 608 certification. The dispatcher drags the appointment onto his row and his phone buzzes.

  4. 9:10 AM

On the way, and the customer knows it

Marcus starts the trip in the app. The customer gets a text that he’s on the way, the office watches his location on the map, and the drive time goes on the work order by itself.

  5. 9:32 AM

On site, the job sheet keeps him honest

A six-item checklist: pressures, temperature split, capacitor reading, filter, drain line, photos. The capacitor reads well below spec. Two photos go on the job sheet before he touches anything.

  6. 10:05 AM

The part comes off the van’s shelf

He adds the capacitor as a part on the work order. With Zoho Inventory connected, the van is set up as its own stock location, so it drops by one and the reorder point does the rest.

  7. 10:20 AM

Signed, rated and paid in the driveway

The service report shows the work and the photos. The customer signs on the phone, gives five stars and pays the invoice online. It syncs to Zoho Books before Marcus starts the van.

  8. 10:24 AM

Next spring’s visit is already on the calendar

She signs up for a maintenance plan. Zoho FSM creates the March and September tune-ups as recurring work orders, tied to her condenser, so nobody has to remember to call her.

03Your turn at the dispatch desk

Who should take this job? Try the Zoho FSM dispatch board

Four open jobs, four techs, one map. Pick a job, see who’s closest and who holds the right license, then assign it. Watch out: the nearest tech isn’t always qualified. When you’re done, compare your drive miles with what a skills-and-distance rule would have picked.

In a real Zoho FSM account, skills, shifts and territories (Premium) narrow the list for the dispatcher, and live locations come from the techs’ app. We set the rules to match your licenses and service areas.

04Zoho FSM pricing in the US

Zoho FSM pricing is set by appointments. How many do you book?

Zoho FSM has a free edition for up to 30 appointments a month and 20 users. Paid editions start at $25 a month for Standard, $35 for Professional and $40 for Premium, billed yearly, for 60 appointments a month. As your volume grows you move up an appointment tier, and the users stay included. Slide to your monthly volume and tick what you can’t live without.

05Zoho FSM vs the field service names you know

Zoho FSM vs ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro and Salesforce

The biggest difference is what you pay for. Jobber and Housecall Pro charge by user tier, Salesforce Field Service by license per tech and dispatcher, and ServiceTitan only quotes. Zoho FSM charges by appointment volume. For a 10-tech shop, that usually puts Zoho FSM at or below the small-business tools and far below the enterprise ones.

On Standard, which has the live map, trips and crews, the same 500 appointments cost $1,800 a year.

Why we keep putting Zoho FSM on the shortlist

    1. Hiring doesn’t move the bill. Your eleventh tech costs nothing extra on Zoho FSM; on per-user tools, that’s another monthly seat.
    2. Maintenance plans with recurring work orders come in at Professional, the plan most service agreements need.
    3. The rest of the back office is already there. Zoho CRM for sales, Zoho Books for invoices, Zoho Inventory for parts and Zoho Desk for support, all from one vendor.
    4. If you also want those apps on one license, Zoho One puts Zoho’s business apps on one per-employee license.
    5. Customization (fields, functions, webhooks and REST APIs) starts in Standard, so your process can bend the software and not the other way around.

Where another tool can make sense: a large residential HVAC or plumbing contractor that lives on call-booking analytics, price-book presentations and marketing attribution may get more out of ServiceTitan. A one-truck owner who wants online booking and payments with almost no setup can be happy on Jobber or Housecall Pro. Big enterprises already deep in Salesforce often stay there. Tell us your truck count and monthly job volume on the first call, and we’ll say which of these fits.

List prices in USD per month, billed yearly, from each vendor’s US pricing at the time of writing. Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan run promotions and change user limits, so we re-check their quotes against your appointment volume before you commit.

06What moves, and where it goes

Leaving Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan? Here’s where it lands in Zoho FSM

A Zoho FSM migration keeps the things your office can’t afford to lose: customers and service addresses, equipment and its history, your price book and the maintenance agreements that pay the bills. Pick the tool you use today. We test with a sample first, then switch over between dispatch days so no tech shows up to a blank app.

    07Connects to what you use

Zoho FSM integration: what talks to what

Zoho FSM connects natively to Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Zoho Invoice, Zoho Inventory, Zoho Desk and Bigin. Everything else goes through its REST API, webhooks and custom functions, which is where most of our Zoho FSM customization work happens. Hover a tile to see which work orders, invoices, parts or tickets pass between the apps. If you want AI (now also called SI, super intelligence) agents to draft work orders or summarize job notes, we build that on the API with a person approving each step.

08What a project with us looks like

Four Zoho FSM projects we build for US service companies

Every Zoho FSM implementation is scoped on its own and priced as a fixed amount in a signed BRD. Whether you run one truck or several branches, the work usually starts as one of these four. Solar companies often combine the last two with our solar software work, where installs and O&M run on the same stack. Once techs are on the app, we keep adding job sheets, workflows and training for every new hire in dispatch or the field.

    09Questions owners and dispatchers ask

What field service owners ask before they switch

Zoho FSM pricing, the tech app, maintenance plans, migration and AI / SI, answered short. If your trade has a question we skipped, bring it to the first call along with a typical work order.

    What is Zoho FSM?

Zoho FSM (Field Service Management) is Zoho’s software for companies that send technicians to customer sites. It covers requests, estimates, work orders, scheduling and dispatch, a mobile app for techs, service reports with customer signatures, invoicing and payments, maintenance plans and asset history.

How much does Zoho FSM cost in the USA?

Zoho FSM is free for up to 30 appointments a month and 20 users. Paid editions are priced by appointment volume. At 60 appointments a month, Standard is $25, Professional $35 and Premium $40 per month billed yearly, or $30, $45 and $55 billed monthly, in USD before tax. Higher tiers cost more as volume grows. Setting up dispatch, job sheets and the tech app with us is its own fixed price, written into a signed BRD.

Is Zoho FSM priced per technician?

No. Zoho FSM pricing is based on how many appointments you book each month. The free edition allows up to 20 users and Standard up to 200, so adding a technician doesn’t add a seat fee the way per-user tools do.

Does Zoho FSM have a mobile app for technicians?

Yes. The Zoho FSM app for iPhone and Android shows each tech their appointments, gives directions, tracks travel time, and lets them add notes and photos, fill in job sheets and collect the customer’s signature and rating on the service report.

Can Zoho FSM handle maintenance plans and service agreements?

Yes, from the Professional edition. A maintenance plan tied to a customer or a piece of equipment creates recurring work orders and appointments on the schedule you set, and every asset keeps its own service history. It fits HVAC agreements, solar O&M and equipment service contracts.

Can Zoho FSM dispatch by skill or by location?

Yes. The dispatch console shows schedules as a Gantt chart, grid or calendar with drag-and-drop. Standard and higher add maps, live location tracking and trips so you can see who is closest. Premium adds skills, shifts and territories so jobs go to qualified techs in the right area.

Zoho FSM vs ServiceTitan: which is better?

ServiceTitan is built for large residential and commercial contractors and is sold by custom quote. Zoho FSM suits small and mid-size service companies that want published prices, no per-user fee and a direct link to Zoho CRM, Books and Inventory. Very large contractors who rely on ServiceTitan’s call-booking and marketing reports may still prefer it.

Zoho FSM vs Jobber or Housecall Pro: how do they compare?

Jobber and Housecall Pro price by plan and number of users. For example, Jobber Grow with 10 users lists at $299 a month billed yearly and Housecall Pro MAX starts at $299 for 8 users. Zoho FSM Professional at 500 appointments a month is $250 billed yearly, with users included, and connects to the rest of Zoho.

Is Zoho FSM good for solar installers?

Yes. Solar companies use Zoho FSM for site surveys, install crews, inspections and O&M visits, with maintenance plans for each system and parts tracked in Zoho Inventory. We often pair it with Zoho CRM for sales and permitting as part of our solar software work.

Does Zoho FSM integrate with Zoho CRM, Books and Inventory?

Yes. Sales users create requests, estimates and work orders from deals in Zoho CRM. Invoices and payments sync with Zoho Books or Zoho Invoice, and parts stock with serial numbers comes from Zoho Inventory. Zoho Desk tickets can become work orders too. Other tools connect through the REST API and webhooks.

Can you migrate us from Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan to Zoho FSM?

Yes. We move customers, service addresses, equipment and service history, your price book, open jobs and maintenance agreements. We run a test import that your dispatcher checks, switch over on a quiet day and train your techs on their own next jobs.

How long does a Zoho FSM setup take?

It depends on your trades, crews, migration and the apps you want connected. The signed BRD gives each job type, migration step and connected app its own delivery date, so you know the day your techs switch to the app before we start.

Is Zoho FSM good for a small business?

Yes. Zoho FSM for small business starts free for up to 30 appointments a month, and Standard costs $25 a month billed yearly for 60 appointments. A one- or two-truck shop can run dispatch, the tech app and invoicing on day one, then add maintenance plans later.

Do you provide Zoho FSM support and training after go-live?

Yes. Our Zoho FSM consultants stay on for admin help, new job sheets and workflows, and training for new dispatchers and techs, online or on-site in Southern California.

Can Zoho FSM message customers on WhatsApp?

Yes, from the Professional edition. Your office can message customers on WhatsApp from inside Zoho FSM, alongside maintenance plans, asset management, job sheets and grouped invoices that also arrive with Professional.

    What is SI?

SI stands for super intelligence. In September 2026 a US executive order asked federal agencies to use “super intelligence” or “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” in official communications. Most businesses still say AI, so we use both terms.

10How a Zoho FSM project starts with us

Before a single tech installs the app, it’s all in writing

Every Zoho FSM setup we run starts with the same four steps, and they end with your scope and price on paper. Smaller rollouts are often scoped from the first call. Bigger ones, like a ServiceTitan migration across several branches, may need a paid scoping and BRD phase, and we’ll quote that up front.

Zoho FSM rollouts run online for service companies across the US, Canada and Latin America. In Southern California we can join a ride-along or train techs in person at your shop. Prefer to write first? Use our contact page.

    2. Ride-along mappingHow a job really moves, from the first call to the paid invoice, and where it stalls
