Slack to Zoho Cliq migration: what moves and what we rebuild
Zoho Cliq has a built-in Slack import. A workspace admin exports Slack as a ZIP file, a Cliq admin uploads it, picks the channels and chooses whether each becomes an organization or a team channel. Apps, bots and workflows don’t travel in that file, so we rebuild them.

What keeps your team talking during the Cliq migration?
Slack stays the place to talk until switch day, and stays readable after it. A sample is signed before the full import, and the numbers have to line up before anyone is asked to move.

What IT leads and owners ask before leaving Slack. A custom app nobody documented? Bring it to a migration call.
What doesn’t move from Slack to Zoho Cliq?
Apps, bots, Workflow Builder flows and Slack Connect settings stay behind, because the Slack export holds conversations, not logic. We list each one in the assessment and rebuild the ones still in use as Cliq bots, commands, schedulers or Zoho Flow flows.
Do private channels and direct messages come across?
It depends on your Slack plan. Standard exports usually include public channels only, and private channels and direct messages need a plan and approval that allow them. We check what your workspace can export before we promise anything in the BRD.
Is there downtime when we switch from Slack?
Hardly any. People keep chatting in Slack until switch day, a catch-up export covers the last few days, and the next morning everyone opens Cliq with Slack still readable.
What happens to our Slack bots and integrations?
Each one gets rebuilt or replaced. Simple bots and slash commands become Cliq bots in Deluge, app alerts come through Cliq extensions or Zoho Flow, and Zoho CRM or Desk alerts work natively.
How long does a Slack to Zoho Cliq migration take?
It depends mostly on bots, integrations and outside partners, not message count. Your Migration BRD carries dated steps for the sample, the full import and switch day, all set back from a stopper date before your Slack renewal.
How much does a Slack to Zoho Cliq migration cost?
A Slack move is quoted as a single fixed fee, using the Quick, Standard or Complex Move package. The first call is free. Larger workspaces often start with a paid Migration Assessment, credited in full against the migration, and the fee is fixed in a signed BRD.
Who signs off the Slack migration?
Each department names a point of contact, usually its head, who signs the Migration BRD and later checks the sample channels. Your project owner adds a signature as well, and we keep a record of each one.
What happens to our Slack workspace after go-live?
Slack stays readable through the agreed rollback window, and you keep the full export as an archive. You cancel Slack only after you confirm the team has settled in Cliq, ideally before the next renewal.
